Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Recodify at recodify.dev (the "Service"), operated by Recodify ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Recodify is a website quality scoring and improvement tool. It crawls websites you provide, generates audit scores across design, performance, SEO, accessibility, security, and content categories, and produces AI-generated fix reports and improvement recommendations. The Service is intended for legitimate website owners and developers analyzing sites they own or have authorization to analyze.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your credentials or allow others to access your account.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Payments and Refunds

Subscriptions. Subscription plans (Pro, Agency) are billed monthly or annually. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Credit packs. One-time credit pack purchases are non-refundable. Credits expire 30 days from the date of purchase.

Free tier. Free accounts receive one audit credit. No payment is required.

Price changes. We reserve the right to modify pricing with at least 14 days' notice to existing subscribers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • -Crawl or analyze websites you do not own or have explicit authorization to analyze
  • -Attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit limits, or access controls
  • -Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service or its outputs for competitive purposes
  • -Upload or submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
  • -Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws

6. Intellectual Property

The Recodify platform, branding, and underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. Reports and outputs generated from your submitted website data are yours to use for your own website improvements. You grant us a limited license to process your submitted URLs and website content solely to provide the Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated recommendations are accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific situation. You are responsible for evaluating and implementing any suggestions produced by the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms or engage in abusive behavior. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) shall survive.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before formal proceedings.
